About Us
Our group is here to share our experience as another example within the More-Than-One existence. There are a variety of dynamics, structures, origins, and presentations among those who body-share with many. As individuals, we strive at remaining true to ourselves, refusing to conform to what others believe as the 'one true way to be'.
Our Group is large, consisting of many individuals who are known collectively as Silhouettes. As a Gateway, there are many minds with the ability to come and go as they wish. The shared body does not belong to any one person; it is shared as needed. Most group-members are Walk-ins from other places, with separate memories and histories than the linear body-history.
Portions of our group experience appeared online since 1994. Our websites and online journals have helped us maintain a record of our thoughts and important events as they occurred. We have also been a helpful resource within the Plural community since 2003.

History and The Past
We have been self-aware since the body was a toddler. A handful of current Group members were present back then and recall speaking with others who lived here. They were not the body's owner. They recall their own thought processes at the time, since several were older than the body. The bio-parents made mention of someone in the group wanting to be called by a different name when this body was 3 years old. We were able to get away with communicating to one another out loud, because it was most likely seen as imaginary friends or make-believe. We didn't become aware of a 'head-space' until later.
In childhood, current group-members accepted the experience as imaginary friends or 'parts of me'. We existed this way and never thought much else of it. By age 10, it was accepted that this must be how it is for everyone. Everyone must have 'invisible other people' that lived with them. Then it was realized, that if they do, no one ever talked about it. So maybe we shouldn't talk about it either.
Doubt was more frequent in the past than it is now. One dominant group-member became a big supporter of the belief that she created everyone as characters from her stories because she was lonely. The only problem with that, she arrived here when this body was 19 - so who 'created' her? Several of us went through periods of believing we were only very moody, while not realizing others were around. Some in our group felt they were the only 'real person', while some believed other group members were imaginary friends here to keep them company. When the changes in behavior were noticed by others, we tried to hide it and keep it to ourselves. We started to believe we must have imaginary friends.
This was before the internet for us, so we couldn't look up online and discover others with similar experiences. We came up with our own explanations, some believed in the supernatural as an explanation, others believed it was spiritual.
By the time of High School graduation, our Group learned to keep it all a secret, while quietly embarrassed for still having imaginary friends -- since in books or on television, such fancies were only reserved for small children. The body was 18 and still talking to invisible people.
The Internet finally reached our group in 1994. During the search for other like-minds, we took part in various Spiritual and New Age forums. Later, we stumbled upon the Multiple community in 2001. Our public acknowledgement as a Group took place in 2003. From that period onward, we tried hard to work together and maintain clear communication. It's been a long journey, including finally understanding and accepting our existence. As individuals, we're still learning. We have moderated many Multiple/Plural forums over the years, helping new systems understand their own experiences.

Origins and Structure
Our group flourishes in structure and dynamics. We communicate with one another, listen and help each other. Responsibility is important when it comes to sharing the body. Members of our group do not hurt others or use this existence as an excuse to get away with being harmful to anyone. Our main group has slowly changed over the years, yet we are able to maintain a singular persona when interacting with people in the world. (Group Dynamics)
As a Gateway, another place or our Realm is home to a large number of our inhabitants. Many people who arrive to our group traveled here from other places; locations outside the physical body. There are connections to other realms and planes of existence, making this is a large part of who we are. |
Online and Naming
While stepping into the online Plural world, the first unofficial group name used was Kasia Whisper in the late 1990s. We ran a board on Delphi by this name. Various group members posted about their personal interests. People wondered why we didn't call the board Kasia's Whisper or Kasia Whispers. This was because it was named after two different individuals. That name followed us to Livejournal until the mid-2000s.
In 2003, we came up with the name Kasiya System, which eventually became shortened to Kasiya or The Kasiyans. This name came about for several reasons:
We kept this name for around 6 years, until it no longer fit and lost its appeal in 2009.
In 2006, we also had a side name of Tej Agni. This was Amirah's sub-group. The name is Sanskrit and means 'radiant fire'. She still maintains that as her group name, but other than the Livejournal with the same name, she hasn't used it anywhere online.
In 2009, we took on the group name of Silhouettes. We were going through a large change in our lives and wanted an outward way of representing this. Having a new name seemed a good way to do this. We also wanted a name that felt a little more vague and not based on anyone in particular. We enjoy representing ourselves as vague outlines against a sunsetting sky.
In 2003, we came up with the name Kasiya System, which eventually became shortened to Kasiya or The Kasiyans. This name came about for several reasons:
- It was an Egyptian word and one group member at the time was Egyptian.
- It means 'the one who departed', and it was a play on the idea that there was once an original host who no longer lived here. (We don't actually know if there was such a person or not.)
- Kasia was here often, which made it easier for our group (online or in person) to be referred to as Kas for short. Fourth, we loosely referred to our home realm as the Kasiyan Realm.

The Present
After 14 years of referring to ourselves as Multiple or Plural, we are finally removing this label from the description of who we are. Our group is shifting back to our original roots; a belief that the minds who visit this body are able to do so through Metaphysical means with genetic origins. Possibly even Starseed in nature. Whatever the reason, we are hoping to rediscover ourselves as apart from many of the online labels we once allowed to settle upon us.
