Terminology we do NOT use
These are words that we personally chose not to use in relation to ourselves as a Group. Updated: Apr 4, 2017
* Of course, we have nothing against anyone who uses whatever terminology they prefer. It's about choosing whatever makes you comfortable. *

Alter - We have never used this word. For us, Alter is a derogatory label that removes individuality and person-hood from an individual. Making them seem like they are only parts or fragments of another and not real in their own right.
Canon - A source of media to which a person may belong to. We have used this online, for it's simple for people to understand. It can cause a person to believe their homes and memories are nothing more than fiction-fodder.
Endogenic/Traumagenic - These labels are based on a group's believed origins: non-traumatic or traumatic. We've never used these labels because our own origins are more complicated than these two choices. Plus, it hints at mind-created origins, which we are not.
Fictive/Factive - Derogatory labels. A Fictive is a person from media, a word that hints at fiction or fake person. A Factive is a person from history or a living person today. The concepts are acceptable, but the labels are not to our liking.
Host - A host is someone the body belongs to. There may have been some in our group in the past who believed the body belonged to them, yet they came to realize this was untrue. We've never had a Host or some original person who owned this body. Or if we had, that person is no longer known.
Inner World - An Inner World is a place someone can see and visit internally. It hints at mind-creation and only existing with the body's brain. This does not work for us, since we believe our Realm to be elsewhere, not within the body's mind at all.
Integration - Integration is when all the individuals within a group somehow merge into a single person. This is impossible for us for many reasons.
Littles - Children within a group. This is an old DID/MPD label that has become derogatory for us.
Memory Pool/Shared Memory - This is the ability for group members to have access to any or all memories belonging to the body's history, or even the memories of other group members. We do not have such a construct.
Kasiya/Kasiyans - (pronounced Kuh-say-uh) In 2003, Kasiya was our group name. We went by Kasiya System, Kasiya Group, The Kasiyans, and Kasiya Realm. One of the main body users at the time was named Kasia, so we went by "Kas" which covered both her name and the group name together. We stopped using this name at the end of 2008, while experiencing changes. Then took on the name Silhouettes in 2009.
Multiple/Multiplicity - This is a play on Multiple Personality Disorder. Many people used Multiple to shorten it. "I'm Multiple." It may have other meanings now, but we never liked to use it for the original reason and once used Plural/Plurality instead.
Otherkin - Otherkin are individuals who believe they contain the souls of anything non-human. They may not believe they are actually that being, only have traits that enhance their humanity. We accept the concept, but not the label.
Personalities - Like Alter, this is a derogatory label that hints at someone being nothing more than a trait or emotion instead of a full individual.
System - Another word for Group, or the entirety. In the beginning, we used this then stopped. It sounds too technical and hints at DID/MPD terminology.
Tulpa - A newer absorbed label for a created thought-form. It's one we never used and don't plan on using.
