Plural Information - General Plurality
Advice
Sometimes I will act like a completely different person. I have more than one side to me. How is that any different from Plurality? How do I know I'm not Plural myself?
It's a little more than just having other sides, but this can also be the first steps in discovering Plurality within yourself. You can keep a journal and write your thoughts - the hows and whys you feel the possibilities for being Plural may exist. The discovering process is different for everyone.
I want to become Plural. Is there any way to do it, or is it impossible?
It isn't something that can happen just because you want it. Though there are some who have brought their personal writing characters to life, or manifested thought-creations for themselves. There is no guarantee how long they would remain or that it would even work for everyone.
How can I learn more about the others in my own Group?
Journals are an easy way for someone to speak their thoughts. All they have to do is press their fingers on a keyboard. Some may enjoy filling out surveys. Some of the best surveys are those used by writers to learn more about the characters they write about.
How can I help those in my Group who are afraid of Fronting, since one of us monopolized the position for so long?
Let them try while doing an easy and safe task - watching television, sleeping, using the computer. Some may always be afraid and that's OK too. Using a body that doesn't belong to you isn't always easy.
I'm not sure if those in my Group are totally separate. Is that possible? Why is that?
Yes, it is possible. There could be Medians in your group, or some may literally be fragments of another person. For some, there have been times when a Walk-in arrived and they weren't completely present. They were lingering between two places for awhile.
Any tips on keeping a healthy relationship with headmates?
Communication. Just like with your friends or family. Listen and respect one another.
How can we improve communication between one another?
Listen to each other. That's important. Possibly give individuals a chance to front and write about themselves. Or see if you can focus on their words and try to write for them. It can help strengthen connections.
Any tips for dealing with homesickness? I really miss my world but I'm stuck here.
Perhaps you can create art that reminds you of your home. Drawing or painting where you lived, a town or village or people you once knew, animals and plants can help bring a small portion of it to your present. Even writing about it, all that you remember can be good while the memories are still fresh.
What suggestions do you have for coming out and revealing ourselves to people when we don't have a very good idea of how they'll respond?
Test the waters first. Maybe bring up Plurality one day and see how they respond. If they don't take it well, you can backtrack and say you are working on a book and sometimes your characters behave like muses and talk to you. You can joke about it if you like. People are more likely to dismiss that type of explanation. It's a good way to 'get out of it' if you want to.
Is there any good way to tell friends that you're probably plural?

It may be untruthful, but sometimes it is safer and better for your sanity to remain quiet.
