Information - Our Experience
Group Structure - our Group structure and how we function
* The Group's organization changes with time. Normally at least one person is around who has been with the Group for several years. That way, there is someone with a good portion of the body's history in their memory, in case it were needed. Our Group doesn't have a widely accessed memory pool. Not everyone has sudden knowledge of history just by being here. They have to be told or read it in one of our 'catching up' files for new members. It's the same as a person taking on a new identity - they need to memorize important information such as the body's birth date, mailing address, phone numbers, and other identifying knowledge. Having a rough idea of the past is helpful too. Those who have this memorized are usually around.
* As a Group, we function as individuals. Around others, we function as a singlet trying to keep up the single-mind persona. Being a singlet is very forced and stressful. When alone or with someone who knows about us, we behave as ourselves.
* We see the shared body as the gateway between our home realm and here. There are a large amount of individuals who live back in our realm, most aren't even aware there is another life happening with this body. They live their own lives. It's a bit like living life in a small town and expecting someone on the other side of the world to be aware of your activities. We believe we are a gateway, because we have access to another place, new people arrive all the time, many individuals live there, and our realm is separate from life here.
* Usually 15-20 regulars may access the body. Many others may never come around at all, living their lives back in our realm. If you want a guesstimate, I'd say several million or billion at least. Or enough to populate several planets.
* We've found it easier for us to count the regulars. That list can change every few years. But the number is around 10 most of the time. There are possibly 25 who only come here sometimes. And the many, many who are back home and either came around at one time or not at all. It's taken us awhile to decide on just what to include as a number. So we usually say something like, "10 regulars and many more in the vicinity". If we use a much larger number, our name list gets a little chaotic.
* We are very accepting of new members. People have been arriving to our group for 40 years. We're fairly open to new people. Since we have over 1,000+ members, the more the merrier!
* We have a loose categorizing system in place. There are mains or regulars, co-mains, those capable of using the body but may not any longer, and nons. Sometimes we've used Primary and Secondary for those using the body.
* We also have a few groups with names:
The Clique are the teens who were around during the body's teen years.
Kidlets or Chex Mix has been used for the children over the years.
Tej Agni is Amirah's group; being 'more than one' herself.
* Using the body is based on willingness and ability. Some in our Group are not able to remain in the body for very long, no matter how much they may wish to. And there are others who can use the body extremely well, but are not interested in life here. When they come here it depends on the person and what they wish to do while they're around. No one person makes that decision for everyone else.
* For a 'shared core value', we have a 'do not harm' as an over-arching 'rule'. This relates to one another in our group and while someone is using the body. A large portion of our group members are healers or protectors in some fashion. I think that expresses a majority of our 'core values'. Healing, helping others, and protecting one another. Our other values include: keeping an open mind, not stepping on the beliefs of others, no controlling others against their will, and giving each other the freedom to grow into their true selves.
These values also extend to this side of the body. Also, since this body is a bit like the family car, no one is allowed to damage it intentionally. If someone has such an urge they can remove themselves from the body and do so elsewhere or seek help if they need it. We've encountered people in the past who felt it was harmful for our Group to not allow people to harm the body, but it isn't harmful. It's responsible. It's a personal decision that doesn't involve anyone else. They aren't told they can never do such things, just not to the shared body. We wouldn't go around and randomly smash up the family car...so.
* When different people use the body, as a whole, we still protect ourselves as a group identity to anyone on the outside that doesn't know us as such. Which is just about everyone. So our changes aren't as dramatic, even in a safe place, as it may be for someone who was more comfortable with themselves.
* But there are a few body changes:
Voice level/loudness and pitch, posture, use of language, gestures, style of walking, eye color, alcohol tolerance, metabolism, fast/slow food digestion, sugar burn, personal mental difficulties, talents, food dislikes/likes, handwriting, temperament
* There have been times when our main body users have changed every few years. Over the last few decades, we have shifted main regulars often. Some lose interest in life here, move back into our realm in order to spend more time with their families, a new arrival may enjoy being here, and so on. Usually there are a couple mains and a small group of secondaries who hang around together. We don't always have a conscious choice on the matter. The regulars are usually people who connected well with the body in the past, with other new people around us. Females also seem to connect the best with this body since it is female as well. Not that males can't, they do, and rather frequently of late.
* There isn't violence on our homeworld. There were some incidents from outside that reached us several years ago. Security has since prevented anything further. As for some of the other worlds, there were a few wars in their past.
* This body has been 'more than one' since toddler-hood. There are currently only a few here who can remember those years, and they are not the body's owner. There were others who kept one another company. One recalls very clearly her own thought processes at the time, since she was older than the body. Our bio-parents made mention of us wanting to be called by a different name when this body was 3 years old. We didn't become aware of a head-space until the teen years. We were able to get away with communicating to one another out loud, because it was probably seen as only 'imaginary friends' or 'make believe'.
* What has helped convince us that we are a group, was the fact that the body didn't belong to any of us. Another thing is if this whole thing is a delusion then which one of us is having the delusion? Me? One of the others? I mean, if I'm someone's delusion then why am I still here after all this time? Originally when one long-time regular was here for a long time, she believed everyone was just her creations or imaginary but when she left and we were still here, that proved to some of the others that they were real. Besides, everyone's around whether I'm aware of it or not and if I'm here solo then someone comes around to check on me. I go home at night and someone else takes over. Some of the others tell me things about their own history or what they do at home that I wasn't present for and it's all new. So, if we're all someone's delusion then it's a pretty good one! How would I prove that I were real to the others that share this body I'm typing with? I would turn to them and introduce myself. If they didn't believe I was real then that's something they'd have to work out for themselves. Though it confuses me the reasons why they wouldn't believe I'm real when they can see and hear me. I'd be much more concerned about people outside of this body believing I exist.
* We would not spontaneously integrate, even if it were possible.
* Some of our special structural characteristics are: We don't control one another. No one person is in charge of the body. People come and go when they wish. We have many children. We have a large Realm back home. We have a huge amount of Walk-ins. We have children with members of another group.
* When people aren't in the body they usually return to our realm.
* If someone in our Group committed a crime or did something we don't approve of, they would be prevented from going near the body again. We haven't had to experience something of this nature before. It would be on a situation basis and determined by the level of the crime committed. We may be able to make a person leave our group. They would probably be made to return to their home of origin. We haven't needed to do this.
* In our public life we pretend to be one person nearly all the time. It's easier not worrying about it if we keep up the Singlet persona in public. This is our personal choice. There are some Groups who are able to be themselves in public and either not care, or feel comfortable doing so. We'd prefer not to draw attention to ourselves.
